Your agency is encouraged to participate in the Trauma Informed Care Workshop: "The Cost of Helping: An Organizational Approach to Building Resiliency in the Helping Professions." This workshop is presented by The Center for Health Affairs, the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Ohio Department of Disabilities as part of the Trauma Informed Care (TIC) Initiative. The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County is the fiscal agent for this event.

The Upper NE Region Trauma Informed Care Conference will feature keynote speaker, Kenneth R. Yeager, Ph.D., LISW-S, LICDC. Dr. Yeager is an Associate Professor, Clinical, in the College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Director of the Stress Trauma and Resilience STAR Program, and the David E. Schuller MD, Professor for Patient Compassion. Dr. Yeager has numerous publications in areas of crisis intervention; treating co-morbid substance abuse and mental illness, quality improvement and evidence-based practice. Dr. Yeager is also Director of Quality, OSU Harding Behavioral Health and Program Director, Clinical, OSU STAR Program

This full-day conference will give professionals and caregivers the tools they need to more effectively help individuals based on evidence from a variety of sources including SAMHSA (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration). It will enable agencies to begin developing structured, organizational responses to Vicarious/Secondary Trauma in order to support staff, create a resilient workforce, and ultimately increase staff retention.

Organizations are encouraged to attend in teams comprised of frontline staff, manager, leaders and any other appropriate staff.
